Two teenage girls have been found dead on the Interstate in New Orleans just one week apart.
Jasilas Wright was found at 5am on Wednesday after apparently been driven over by multiple cars.
She was spotted when drivers called authorities saying they thought a dog was lying on the I-10, west of Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
Detectives are now working to determine whether the case bears any connection with the death of 16-year-old Kaylan Ward, who died in similar circumstances on June 4 in New Orleans.
Wright, from the Metairie district of New Orleans, Louisiana, is survived by her nine-month-old son, mother, grandmother and three sisters.
It is not yet clear what led to Wright’s death and how she reached the I-10.
Gerry Cvitanovich, the coroner in Jefferson Parish, told Nola.com: ‘She was obviously hit and run over several times.
There was no evidence of a stabbing that we could see. There was no evidence of strangulation. There was no evidence that we could see of a gunshot. The injuries were consistent with being hit and run over by cars at a high speed.’
This shit is sketchy y’all. These two black teens were found on the same interstate with the same injuries within a week of each other. These girls are receiving hardly any airtime. Black girls matter y’all. If something is going on they better get to the bottom of this.
