I’ve noticed that Minion bath products are a thing, and that many of them are banana-scented.

The fragrance used to impart a banana scent is called isoamyl acetate. Isoamyl acetate is also an alarm pheromone in bees. It’s released when a bee stings something/someone, prompting other bees to sting the same target.

The Minion shampoo has mysteriously infiltrated my house, and my youngest sibling (the only one who uses it) has not been stung since its appearance, but I wouldn’t count on anecdotal evidence…

If you have an allergy to bee stings, I strongly recommend choosing a different scent.

I’m a chemist and I found out I’m allergic to bees after working with isoamyl acetate and being stung twice on my way home from work. Do not use isoamyl acetate as a fragrance and especially not on children, which Minions are marketed to.

Please please please not on children. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Minions products are going to kill someone. only then will this chaos end.

So, not only are they simply erasing a key personality aspect of such an iconic character, they are specifying they they are simply erasing a key aspect of such an iconic character.

They felt the need to actively say “No, no this character wont have Schizophrenia anymore.” Why did they have to do that?? Rub salt in the wound?

When will people realize that Schizophrenia is a real goddamn mental illness, and that erasing it from media will not erase it from reality. Deadpool has always had Schizophrenia, its a known fact, why did they feel the need to backtrack and declare that their Deadpool isnt “insane” like that?

Ill fucking tell you why.

Because the stigma against mental illness is still fucking huge. Its great that society is starting to broaden their acceptance of illnesses such as Depression and Bipolar Disorder, but illnesses such as Schizophrenia are still being veiwed as “too crazy.” People need to fucking learn and accept that having and living with Schizophrenia does not make you “insane” or “crazy,” not in the ways that stereotypes dictate. Its a treatable disease, and hundreds of thousands of people live with it every day, and hundreds of thousands of people are just trying to go about their lives. 

But no, these absolutely fuckwads had to take away one of the most iconic characters who has Schizophrenia. 

 The only possible silver lining I can scrap from the bottom of the barrel is at least now they wont be able to fuck up their representation. 

Im so fucking mad.

#they only like the funny parts of being crazy #they dont want to bring in a picture of a mental illness #they want the comedic device #not the illness #not the reality #schizophrenia is too much of a harsh word for them #and that’s the problem

If I Die In Police Custody…

In 2k15 America, Black people now have to proactively and publicly declare for the record that we, like anyone else, would neither lynch ourselves nor commit suicide while in police custody. 

This is (apparently) necessary now because if we are caught being human and – even once – state that we were even momentarily sad or depressed, that single statement alone can and will be used against us by corporate media and the police to blame us for our own murders…at the hands of the police.
