Nobody knows just how many women the notorious Ripper killed. Most experts, or ‘Ripperologists’ agree that he killed five London prostitutes, though some claim that he murdered only four while others say the figure is well over nine. Most of his victims were killed between early August and early November in 1888. Almost all were killed outdoors in secluded alley-ways and there is no evidence to suggest that any of them knew each other. They varied in both age and appearance. Most were drunk or thought to be drunk at the time they were killed, which suggests that whoever the Ripper was, he was wealthy enough to buy the prostitute and get her drunk.
