Jupiter Jones is shown to private quarters
aboard the Aegis Cruiser. She is provided with clothing and gear: not exactly
civilian-wear but something practical and pretty nice-looking. She holds up a
strange brassiere, poking the fermionic inlays coming off the underwire. They
form a pattern that vaguely reminds her of Caine’s flying boots. They start to
glow.

Jupiter remembers Caine saying something about “redirecting the
force of gravity.” She looks down at the bra; suddenly, she puts two and
two together. Despite fresh encounters with cellular regeneration,
faster-than-light telecommunications, and the unknowable episteme of starships,
THIS, unquestionably, is the moment that Jupiter wakes to the potential of a
new and awe-inspiring universe.
Eyes-opened, divining the very nature and purpose of technology, she
wriggles into the perfectly-sized hover-bra. She turns it on, eases the
life-long tension in her shoulders (with a sigh), stands up straight, and
proceeds to touch the face of God.
